First off, a huge congratulations to Jason for winning the PGA Championship last Sunday! His game was on the entire time, and I couldn’t be happier to see him win his first major.
Back in June - while preparing for the U.S. Open at Merion Golf Club - I had the amazing opportunity to photograph Jason and his coach privately as he practiced for the upcoming Open. I also photographed at Merion, which was another awesome experience. Photographing people is not something I’m used to (I prefer landscapes!), but as I begin to open my eyes, push my boundaries, and dive into the new and unknown, it’s a challenge that will help me look at people differently and hopefully capture something.
I have some other photos of Jason and Chuck Cook (his coach) up on my website, if you’d like to see more (plus some from the U.S. Open!). I wish I owned a fast lens when I photographed Jason, but hopefully in the near future I will have multiple lenses to work with (I currently own just the kit lens).
Congrats again, Jason!
